The turntablist Scene will know Madkut the acclaimed dj who for 5 years represented the UK in many a battle. We know him for his ability not just to scratch and juggle but also to put quality into the music.
Before his first victory of the 1998 Technics DMC UK southwest final, Madkut was found laying cuts on artist such as Principle's “sickdick”. Day one (virgin) to Jraq (full cycle) and many more “when I started to dj I knew I would take this art form further , I became obsessed with science behind djing which led me to turntablism, from here there was no going back it was just all about progression.”
“If madkut does not rule then I will take my hat of and eat it ( DV8 mag 1999 )”. There is a lot of critical acclaim but a write up in a magazine does not make you special, it is persistence and madkut has defiantly persisted. From sets on BBC 1 Tim Westwood's mix masters weekend and showcases on the late John Peel (BBC1), Madkut has shown his versatile nature on the one's and two's. “2001 was a great year for me, I won the DMC UK Battle for supremacy and came 2 nd in the ITF European final. I also toured South Africa and Europe , it really felt like all the hard work paid off, all those hours day in day out practicing was worth it.”
